Draw the Object
Submitted byRoger Parker     Borrowed from or inspired by: N/A     Date added: 05/14/08
Outline:  Students practice drawing pictures based upon the preposition given them.

Materials Needed:
  • DrawTheObject worksheet

Procedure:
  1. After teaching prepositions, give the students the worksheet.  Read out the phrases and have them to draw the apporpriate pictures.
  2. The students really had a lot of fun with this activity.

Teaching Suggestions:
  • Make sure the students know the English for the pictures on the worksheet.

  • Its a good idea to take in a soft toy and a pencil to show the various locations at the start of the lesson.

Variations:

  • You could add 'small/big' for more advanced classes, for example: "Draw a big cat on the chair."

Cautions:

  • Not all the kids are good at drawing.  If this might be an issue, before the activity starts do some 'example drawings' on the chalkboard and make sure the drawing is worse an any worst-case-scenario the students could draw.
